Diaspora Clothing is a Toronto, Canada based clothing brand designed to strengthen cultural identities within the different groups of the diaspora around the city and the globe.
There is a decline in cultural identity following immigration while at the same time western thought has been slowly cultivating individualism within these same immigrants and their children’s generation.
For this reason we seek to empower the Diaspora, rekindle and continue to cultivate the collective community.
The division of land between nations and states and the issues of tribalism has always been a plot to exploit the people.
The Diaspora understands more than anybody how similar and close all people really are.
They are a tribe of their own, yet they do not seek to divide. They are grouped under the concept of unity in sharing connected existence, struggle and resistance.
Strangers in a distant land, they found the awful illusions of separatism and tribalism disappear. They became aware of what a tribe was always meant to be; a blessing for one another to know each other.
This is the distant tribe, the Diaspora.
